Weight Management

AMET team of senior experts in Weight Management, operates through the following steps:


At this stage we collect and analyze data of competitor’s vehicles in order to define competitive target weights for next generation vehicles in a market scenario.

Weight target setting

We assign weight targets to each vehicle configuration for vehicle and system/subsystem according to cost and fuel consumption targets.

Weight tracking

During the project development we monitor the components to increase the accuracy of the data: estimate/calculate/weight for components, sub-systems and systems continuously researching best in class solutions in terms of materials, performance, topology and technical choices.

Weight reduction

It is the proposal phase where the areas for weight improvement / reduction are identified, consequently allowing relative setting of the risk plan and production monitoring.
The outcome of the analysis process is the declared weight for the homologation procedure.



In the current scenario, there is a renewed interest in issues involving the use of hydrogen, both for mobility and for stationary applications.
Why hydrogen? And why now? Today hydrogen is a new and closer frontier.
According to the Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan (PNIEC), hydrogen could cover 25% of the Italian energy demand by 2050 and, in particular green hydrogen, represents an important opportunity to achieve the decarbonisation goals.
In recent decades, many prototype applications have been developed. They constitute an extensive reference base, even though they are still lacking the industrial dimension (technological players and cost competitiveness) to allow adequate use of hydrogen on the market.
